FARMERS' MARKETS 2023

What’s the best way to support a farmer? By buying their goods! You can find World Farmers farmers at 24 markets across New England this season. Look for the stall with a World Farmers banner. If you see produce that looks unfamiliar, don’t hesitate to ask the farmer--they’re sure to have recommendations on how to prepare it!

In addition to farmers markets, many of our farmers choose to aggregate their produce and sell wholesale to grocery stores, food hubs, and mobile markets and their churches. We try to keep this information up to date. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us!

“Due to the excessive rains and flooding this season, the farmers of Flats Mentor Farm have suffered extreme crop loss. Some are on pause until further notice, and others are attending markets but at a reduced capacity.

Scroll through our full market list below to see who you can hopefully expect at market. Those on pause are indicated in red with an asterisk.”

THE FARMERS

Farmers from any corner of the globe are welcome at Flats Mentor Farm. Most farmers learn about the opportunity to farm at the Flats via word of mouth, which ensures that everyone at the Flats has at least one point of contact with their fellow farmers. Currently, over half of our farmers are from Central and East Africa, while some of the longest-tenure farmers are of Southeast Asian origin. Over two-thirds of our farmers are women.
